VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
If you live anywhere within a fifty mile radius of Franklin, we need your feet or your fingers or your voice or your tongue (smile). Seriously, we have openings for as many volunteers as possible. We already have a few but in politics there’s no such thing as too many volunteers. We plan to “ramp up” sometime in August.
Regardless of who our candidate happens to be, there will be openings for people to go door to door campaigning. There are at least 35,000 dwellings in the 64th district and he or she would like someone to visit each one of them at least once during the campaign. Any time you could spare for this would be appreciated.
We also have openings for people to address (hopefully we will have stick-on labels), stuff, stamp and lick envelopes (we probably could use a wet sponge for the lick part). We have in-house facilities to print whateve is needed (brochures, signs, etc.).
Then we need some people to do telephone surveying. These people will need to maintain an accurate record of the responses they receive. A script will be provided to help you to decide what to say. Of course if you do better using your own words, you’re more than welcome.
Finally, we will need someone to collate all the records and analyze them. This individual should be able, with a little help, to determine which areas we are weak in and where we should concentrate our efforts.
Depending upon contributions, we may be able to pay mileage and/or provide meals while you are working.
